Currently we are changing focus and writing a book on Anglican Prayer Beads for Church Publishing Company. Victoria is the editor of Georgia's Coastal Illustrated, a bi-weekly newspaper which covers arts, entertainment and events on St. Simon's Island, Sea Island and Jekyll Island. But, we certainly haven't abandoned our roots.
Rocky Mountain Sports wrote of this book, "No matter what your skill level, the tips and topics in this book will have you trekking in the right direction." We also completed a thorough revision of The Appalachian Trail Backpacker. The book is being brought up to date with the latest changes in the trail itself, hiking gear and trends among hikers. One example is that more information on ultra lightweight backpacking will be included. In 2004, we worked with our friend Leonard Adkins, we recently completed fully revised editions of The Best of the Appalachian Trail: Day Hikes and The Best of the AT: Overnight Hikes with all the facts rechecked and new hikes added. The new editions went into stores in the fall 2004. Much of our time and energy these days go in to King of Peace Episcopal Church, where Frank is the founding pastor. You can always see something new at www.kingofpeace.org Though it will take you a bit far afield from the outdoor-oriented info found at this site, we have always found a close connection between our own relationships with God and our outdoor experiences. Photos of our somewhat recent travels are available on the web. They include photos from our March 2004 trip to Egypt. Our hiking trip to Israel at The Land of Israel: A Black and White Portfolio and photos from our Windjammer cruise on the S/V Flying Cloud in the British Virgin Islands. The Windjammer trip was a very different one for us, but it made for a great 15th anniversary. |
