The Priest and Three Ridges are the A.T.'s last 3,000 foot climbs until hikers reach Massachusetts. In Shenandoah National Park, the trail is never too far from Skyline Drive, which the A.T. crosses 40 times in 100 miles.
Potomac Appalachian Trail Club covers 238 miles from Pine Grove Furnace State Park, PA to Rockfish Gap, VA.
Old Dominion Appalachian Trail Club maintains 17 miles from Rockfish Gap to Reeds Gap.
Tidewater Appalachian Trail Club cares for the 10 miles from Reeds Gap to the Tye River.
Natural Bridge Appalachian Trail Club maintains the 88 miles from the Tye River to Black Horse Gap.
Roanoke Appalachian Trail Club covers 135 miles from Black Horse Gap to the New River.
Virginia Tech Outing Club maintains the 25 miles from Virginia 608 to Garden Mountain.
Piedmont Appalachian Trail Hikers is a North Carolina club which covers the 49 miles of A.T. from Garden Mountain to Virginia 670.
Mount Rogers Appalachian Trail Club maintains 56 miles from Virginia 670 to Damascus.
